Attention
All Students – Bring in all your old cell phones!
Cells 4 Cells recycles old cell phones to raise money for families
battling cancer. There is a drop off box in the front office!
We
will pray the Novena to St. Joseph each morning for nine days,
and we will have to say it on our own over the long weekend!
You are welcomed to take your prayer card home on Thursday.
Remember this is a powerful prayer. Besides each of our own
intentions, we will be praying for the full recovery of Devin
Streu and the healing of the sick and hurting of our SPX community.
A Couple of Reminders:
1. Donation jars will be in the cafeteria on Monday, until Lent
is over – a suggested $10.00 donation is expected.
2. Service hours are available by going to St. Frances to help
load the trucks with donations. We will go this Tuesday after
school.
3. Service hours are available for helping setup the St. Joseph
Table and/or making cookies for it. Sign up sheet is in the
cafeteria.
4. Bring needed items for the shipment to Haiti. We need clothing,
hygiene items, and school supplies. Please put your donated
items in the blue barrels in the cafeteria.
We will have a student raffle like we did last year
during the nine days of Novenas. Bring in your dollar bills
for the raffle – (your $10 donation is separate from the
student raffle and can not be used for the purchase of raffle
tickets). We have great raffle items this year. Winners will
be drawn on St. Joseph’s Day after the luncheon.
The Kansas
City Royals are putting on a Free Women’s Self Defense
Class on Saturday, May 1st from 10:00am-Noon at Kauffman Stadium.
The T.A.K.E. Defense program represents a living legacy in honor
of Ali Kemp, a 19-year-old Leawood, KS resident who was murdered
while working as a lifeguard at a neighborhood pool in Johnson
County. This is a wonderful program for all women and it is
a neat experience. The Self Defense class is held on the field
at Kauffman Stadium, and is open to all women.
There will be a pre-season softball clinic at St Pius
on Wednesday, March 24th from 5-8pm. Please register by emailing
Coach Sweeney. Any girls that have not played softball yet for
St. Pius X that are interested, please stop by the office and
get a clinic flyer.
